I don't know who I am, I don't know what I want, I don't know life, I don't know anything
I'm a middle child, I have 2 sisters, the old one grew up fine, made some friends, and now she's 1 year away from getting her master degree in HR.
My younger one, pretty mean, but also sharing, she's a perfectionist in school, she's in middle school, she's spoiled by my parents (I have never seen them yell at her or ground her, ever).
and there's me, when I was born, my parents had some trouble, they lost their fortune, and a series of IT related business failures ending in them landing a simple job at private schools, they are now higher ups.
I was very curious as a child, I had an affinity in Computers, technology, art etc, anything technical and creative/artistic peaked my interest, I was very hardworking, always being 1# in class, one year I got the best year score in the whole school, I didn't have much friends tho, I was a crybaby, shy, easily scared, isolated, I was bullied and beaten, in that time it was common and legal for teachers to discipline the students using physical force (i.e wooden sticks and thick plastic pipes for gas canisters) I was so terrified of punishment I would obsess to get everything right, and in the rare occasion I screw up I just collapse in tears, fear and disgrace consume me, I was scared of the teachers, but what I was scared the most of was my dad.
My dad never connected with me in a good way, while I was a baby, he was in Europe, 95% of contact with me and him was in fear of him, my parents didn't really bother to take care of me so I was left alone, the only comfort I had was with the family PC, loaded with anything on it (we didn't have internet at the time) I would always fiddle with the Registry Editor, SketchUp, GldSrc Hammer, modifying game files, making lyrics videos of songs on Movie Maker for my sister...
My parents used to get us presents sometimes for completing a school year, a PS2 in 2007, exchanged for a PSP in 2013, than a 360 in 2015. so we had some devices to "parent" us.
but other than some materialistic stuff, I haven't gotten much of anything... my dad was very scary, yelling at me if I cry, sometimes slapping me, one time he used the belt (he always brags to me how he only did it once rather than all the time like other parents), Religion was also kinda forced on us by parents, society and school, they'd always try to make us pray and guilt trip us into feeling awful of ourselves for not being religious, but they always give up rather quickly. I was always the skeptical kind and never took what I was taught of religion as fact.
School was getting harder and I had to keep up, some of my "friends" would always ask me for favors, and me being the kind hearted person, I always accepted, I just didn't want let others down, I was always keen to make everyone happy, even at the cost of mine.
in 8th grade, we had school theater, the first theater I participated in was in 2nd grade, I already had stage fright, and when I speaked through the mic I sounded very baby like, which caused the entire audience to laugh, that spooked me so much, I never stepped in theater until 8th grade, not only did I had a play, I also was responsible for mixing, editing, very simple 3D modeling and animation, and some help to other projects, I poured hours tirelessly into it, I even skipped classes, I felt I was doing smth, I was making ppl happy, and I did, mom and dad work at the same school, and my mom was in the audience, although I had a sloppy performance, atleast it was progress, my dad was nowhere to be found, and when I saw him, he told me I was a fool, my supervising teacher for the projects, took all the credits for my work, I was never even mentioned.
and things just got worse, much worse, I hit puberty, and everything just turned bleaker and bleaker, I was depressed, I was tired, I was exhausted, 9th grade was fine, I was still pretty good, 10th grade was when everything crumbled, I couldn't think, I couldn't memorize anything, the learning curve got way steeper, I couldn't keep up, and I fell hard, my dad wasn't very keen on that, becoming more and more emotionally and physically abusive, the "prodigy" he banked on, the "the money I lost God gave me back in successful children" is now a failure, an idiot good for nothing kid, a burden.
He always belittled me all my life, we never had father child moments, actually my whole life to this day was home, school, home. nothing more, nothing less.
I was insecure and uncomfortable near everyone, family included, I just wasn't good enough, I didn't know how the outside world is, was never taught anything about it, but was expected to already know, any minute mistake had grave consequences.
I wanted to do smth be somebody, I'm just too scared of everything, I've never gone out with friends or invited friends over.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will consider buying even more video game companies in future
From the article:
Microsoft may be known as a business software giant, powering most of the world's PCs and building backroom technology and tools. But it's also spent more than $10 billion buying development studios behind some of the most popular video games in the world. To Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, it's all about the future of software.
Though not known as a gamer himself, Nadella's made big bets on the video game industry, buying Minecraft maker Mojang for $2.5 billion shortly after he was named CEO in 2014. Then he bought five more studios in 2018, including role-playing game maker Obsidian, known for the space adventure The Outer Worlds and the well-received South Park: The Stick of Truth. In 2019, it bought Double Fine, maker of adventure game Psychonauts.
What's driven him is a belief that interactive entertainment will be a key technology in the next 10 years and that gamers who use Microsoft products expect the company to make titles like those made by the studios he's bought.
"You can't wake up one day and say, 'Let me build a game studio,'" Nadella said in an interview after the company announced its $7.5 billion cash purchase of ZeniMax Media, which owns several industry-leading game developers, including Bethesda Softworks and Id Software. "The idea of having content is so we can reach larger communities."
That's why Microsoft will consider buying even more video game companies in the future, he said, and why it continues to invest in its Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
"Content is just the incredible ingredient to our platform that we continue to invest in," Xbox head Phil Spencer said in that same interview. "This doubles the size of our creative organization."
Gamers will see a noticeable difference with Bethesda, Spencer said in the interview Monday, noting that the company's games will be offered on Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service the same time they hit store shelves. They'll also be available through Microsoft's xCloud video game streaming service, which allows people to play games over the internet similar to the way they stream movies from Netflix.
"This is a huge investment in games that they're going to get to play," he said.
Spencer also said Bethesda will run semi-independently, in an effort to keep the company building the games that brought it success in the first place. "It is about the culture of those teams," he said. "They're not about becoming us."
It's also why game companies will continue to be on Microsoft's radar. "We'll always look for places where there is that commonality of purpose, mission and culture," Nadella said, noting that the Xbox team has worked with ZeniMax companies including Bethesda since the first Xbox was released in 2001. "We will always look to grow inorganically where it makes sense."
