I post this to show all that I have found and that could be improved, and solutions already present in the original game when using mod.
Oblivion Uncut adds in over 35 cut npcs, 6 whole quests, a courier questline, LOADS of new dialogue, new locations, shops, spells; you can even celebrate holidays!
This mod restores 6 challenging quests including 'Clashing Colours' and 'The Cat, the Wizard and the Hero'. Uncut also adds many cut npcs, like Vanashti (the skooma addict), Wallace (the loan shark's assistant), Victoria Delacroix (the Yellow Team Gatekeeper), Ris Fralmoton (co-owner of the Statlilia Stables) and more. There's literally hundreds of restored lines of dialogue, from combat lines, new quest dialogue, to conversation dialogue and lots more. There's newly restored locations, such as Castle Varaldo, the Fox's Den Inn and the big Imperial Battle College. There's new spells, like 'Lock' and 'Unstable Summoning', a new shop in the Market District and even alternate endings to vanilla quests, including The Siren's Deception and Through a Nightmare Darkly!
And of course, you now have the ability to celebrate holidays in Cyrodiil, like Hearts Day and the New Life Festival!
- All of the village's inhabitants are male.
- The Ayleid ruin Veyond is close by to the south-southeast and is inhabited by unique Azhklan Trolls, which hints at an Unfinished Quest.
They only reside in that one cave, and aren't seen anywhere else in Cyrodiil.
No references are made to them in the entire game, and have no relevance to any quests.
No explanation is given for why there's an entire tribe of Argonians, complete with their own Shamans, in a cave so far from the border of Black Marsh.
Veyond Cave shares its first name with an Ayleid ruin of the same name
, even though the two locations are a considerable distance from one another and aren't even on the same side of the river. Plus, Veyond (the Ayleid ruin) is home to those mysterious Azhklan Trolls that also
don't seem to have any explanation for their existence except for possibly being part of an unfinished quest.
Another bit of possible evidence for an unfinished quest with Blankenmarch is the fact that it is one of only 3 settlements in the game to not have a quest associated with it.
NPCs who talk about Aleswell refer to it as a "town" or "village", although it consists of only two huts, the Aleswell Inn
, and a vegetable garden.
- Within the Arena) Bloodworks, on the ground to the right of Owyn, lies a crumpled note from a woman - Branwen - claiming to be his daughter. The letter states that, whether he likes it or not, Owyn will be forced to recognize her claim of kinship when she becomes Champion of the Arena. Branwen may be found in the Arena District of the Imperial City, sparring with Saliith.
- Upon first entering the Market District, a notice will appear in the upper left-hand corner of the screen reading "New Topic: Do you need couriers?". Despite this, there are no NPCs with whom this topic may be discussed. There is also a script in the CS called "ImperialExpressScript" which seems to be an unfinished quest for you to deliver letters to two different people in each city other than the Imperial City.
- There was originally to be a questline based around the Elder Council that was cut because it detracted from the main quest (as described here). You would rise through the ranks of the nobility, eventually becoming the "Duke of Colovia". Count Ormellius Goldwine and the Nobility faction are said to be the only remnants of this questline. If you load up the Nobility faction in the construction set, you will find that the Nobility faction was assigned an icon which was deleted prior to release, although the path still remains in the game.
- There is a house in Skingrad across from Rosethorn Hall which is owned by someone named Nerastarel. The interior appears dilapidated (despite the fact that it looks fine from the outside) and has several undead in it. Strangely enough, there is no one in the game by the name of Nerastarel, only his house.
- Some of Lazare Milvan's dialogue ("You are obviously of low birth. Unless you dispute my judgement... and you would press your suit at the end of a sword."), and a rumor about him ("I heard Lazare Milvan challenged someone else to a duel. The man is ridiculous.") suggests that he may have been part of a quest involving a duel. Recording notes also suggest that his lines should be delivered so as to make them "deliberately provocative".
This cave was apparently intended to be part of a quest that was never completed
. One result is that most of the cave is inaccessible without taking advantage of exploits.
- To the right when you first enter this cave is a locked door that requires a unique key to open, and thus cannot be picked. This door leads to the second section of the cave, Unmarked Cave Mazeway. However the key for this door does not actually exist in the game (or even in the game's construction set; see the Talk Page), nor is there any script that unlocks the door. Therefore you can normally only explore part of the first zone.
- Unmarked Cave Black Queen's Hall contains a chest identified in the construction set as ChestMS25DungeonMythicEnemyRare01 . The chest's name demonstrates that it was supposed to be used as part of a miscellaneous quest identified as "MS25". No such quest exists in the distributed version of the game, however, and this is the only reference anywhere to MS25. Despite its interesting name, the chest is completely empty.
- One other possible clue related to this quest is a "Rumor" dialogue that can be heard in Cheydinhal: "Dervera Romalen is sure proud of the Newlands Lodge. I think she's especially happy that the Red Queen drinks there." This is the only mention anywhere of a "red queen". It is possible that the unfinished quest involved both a red queen and a black queen.
- The only known way to explore this cave (without using Console commands) is by using an exploit to go through the cave in reverse, starting at the exit. In the northern section of the accessible part of the first zone is a cave with a hole in the ceiling; in a normal cave, this hole would be used to jump down from the upper level and exit after exploring the entire cave. Using the Floating Paint Brushes Cheat or high Acrobatics, it is possible to jump up through this hole. This allows you to explore the Unmarked Black Queen's Hall and beyond. However, even from the other side, it is not possible to unlock the door without using the console.
What if this non-existent Black/Red Queen quest was leftover from when each city in Cyrodiil had its own Arena? The "Red Queen", if this isn't some Tamrielic knight/noble, sounds like the title of an Arena champion, keeping a theme with the Imperial City's Gray Prince. Like the Gray Prince, the Red Queen would give you a side-quest, where she instructs you to go to Unmarked Cave, and either find an item belonging to the Black Queen, who was perhaps another Arena Champion, or kill the Black Queen herself, and then return to the Red Queen for your proposed reward.
- The Riverview in Cheydinhal - seems like somebody went to some effort to ensure that an exclusive party takes place there every week but you can't get an invite, and there's really no reason to go there, as there's nothing related to any quests that happens there.
- The Camonna Tong thugs with the skooma-smuggling gig, and the Orcish gang involved with them, also in Cheydinhal. Again, looks like some work went into setting that up, but it never amounts to anything.
- There's the remains of a matchmaker-type quest between Bittneld the Curse-Bringer and Emfrid in Chorrol. This one's actually semi-doable, but it's missing half the dialogue and there's no reward or anything.
- Residents of Chorrol will often discuss the strange behavior of Eugal Belette. A visit to his home will reveal a basement full of humanoid skulls and Mythic Dawn paraphernalia. Despite this discovery, he may not be reported, nor will he discuss the subject. Of all the Mythic Dawn "sleeper agents", Eugal is the only one whose behavior garners public attention.
- A common rumor in Chorrol speaks of "shady" dealings at The Oak and Crosier, a local inn. Entering the basement of said structure will spark the cave or ruin exploration music, despite being monster-free. The music and the above rumor may be indications of an unfinished quest involving the inn.
- There are unused voice files that suggest that at a certain point in development, it was actually possible for a male character to take up on the Sirens' offer instead of getting into a fight.
Rock Bottom Caverns
- In Chorrol resides an Imperial couple - Jirolin and Ariela Doran - the former of whom, as noted in the Construction Set, appears to be connected with a quest that was cut from the final game. Apparently, Jirolin believes he is part Ogre, the legacy of a distant relation, and would have asked you to leave jewels near a local cave inhabited by Ogres as an offering to establish friendly contact. The Ogres would have allowed Jirolin to enter their ranks, as a meal, at which time he must be rescued. Nothing remains of the quest save the occasional script, random journal entries, and the cave itself: Rock Bottom Caverns, whose occupants were changed to Goblins in light of the quest's absence. You can also find an indistinct piece of parchment framed on the wall in Jirolin's house, apparently the Doran family tree. Most of it is illegible, but Jirolin and a giant are clearly displayed.
Increases the randomization of skill-based NPC greetings, such as "you are a sneaky looking sort", "look at the muscles on you", and "you have the hands of a healer."
Oblivion was shipped with 86 Idle dialogues lines that NPCs would mutter to themselves when not doing anything in particular. The game never called those lines on the NPCs.
