However, four months ago I got covid and was fatigued a lot after. Then I broke my toe and I’m still not even close to recovering. It’s not healing! So exercise has been minimal. I also started eating more unhealthy foods with the whole pandemic happening it just happened.
So anyway, I’ve gained a bit of weight and I’d like to get back to 120. I downloaded a calorie counting app and it said I needed 1200 calories a day to lose the weight. Damn I’m not used to eating so little! I find myself fantasizing about food, constantly thinking about what I’m going to eat, and often pretty hungry (I also don’t eat meat so it’s harder to get protein).
I’m wondering whether it might hurt my metabolism? When I go back to eating the way I regularly do, will this period of sharp decline in calories have lowered my metabolic rate? Is there a healthy way to do this?

I’m a 35yo Male who’s been on the weight loss merry go round for a few years.
I’ve been hovering around 127kg for a good while and on my latest attempt, I’d managed to lose a few kg and then COVID hit which threw me off and I found myself up at 135kg.
I’ve gotten back on the wagon and am using CICO with an 1800 cal daily limit.
I’ve gotten down to 130kg and am holding steady on the plan but progress seems to have stalled - it’s been 2/3 weeks and the scales aren’t moving.
I’ve read about plateaus - is that what’s happening?
I’m worried about whether I need to cut calorie intake further.
Has Anyone else been in a similar position?
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
