2021 NFL Draft Position Outlook

I had to do something to make me forget about the game so I finally made my draft outlook on the team and their team needs. This year they would have 9 draft picks with the extra picks being a third round pick(comp. for Rivers) and a sixth rounder from the Desmond trade. I would like to point out that just because I have someone's name first doesn't mean I like them better than other prospects. Also would like to point that this all could change during the college season, combine and even free agency. That said, the positions I feel we need to draft are OT, IOL, Edge, Corner, Linebacker, Receiver, Tight End. This will be big post so bear with me.
  • Quarterback: Not a position of need. If we are in a position to where the only pick is quarterback and the any other pick would be a reach, we should trade back and build up some assets.
  • Running Back: I like the running backs we already have but at the same time I feel like we could get a running back that compliments Ekeler. Justin Jackson at this point has been good but has been in and out, Kelly is more of a goal line, one yard back(But still like). Jury is still out on the rest of running backs we used so far. Here some running backs that I have been impressed with so far: Chubba Hubbard, Travis Etienne, Najee Harris, Khalil Herbert, CJ Verdell, Kylin Hill, Jaret Patterson, Kenny Gainwell, Mohamed Ibrahim, Spencer Brown
  • Receiver: Like the receivers we have but at the same time having a true number three option could be beneficial behind Keenan and Mike. Guyton has shown promise but it's still early to say he is our third receiver. Plus this draft is probably one of the deepest receiver classes for awhile so if we can find either a burner or someone to play outside so we can move Keenan to the slot, it could worthwhile. Here are some potential prospects: Ja'marr Chase, Jaylen Waddle, Devonta Smith, Rondale Moore, Rashod Bateman, Terrace Marshall Jr., Chris Olave, Amon Ra St Brown, Sage Surratt, Tylan Wallace, Justyn Ross(if he will ever play again), Marquez Stevenson, Tamorrion Terry, Kadrius Toney, Tutu Atwell, Elijah Moore, Mike Strachan, Dazz Newsome, Amari Rodgers, Damonte Moxie.
  • Tight End: With Hunter Henry and Virgil Green listed as free agents, there maybe a possibility that one or both could be gone after this season. Parham is a big target but he still could improve in a lot of areas. Anderson hasn't really done anything of note. Prospects to consider: Kyle Pitts, Pat Freiermuth, Brevin Jordan, Charlie Kolar, Hunter Long, Nick Eubanks, Brant Kuithe.
  • OT: Biggest need for our team. We need to protect Herbert at all costs. Plus Tevi is a free agent and I think we have seen his best which is not great. Also Pipkins is still not getting better and just allowed two sacks today and Bulaga has been in and out of the lineup. Sewell would be the dream hopefully. Prospects: Penei Sewell, Alex Leatherwood, Samuel Cosmi, Walker Little, Jaylen Mayfield, Dillon Radunz, Jackson Carman, Liam Eichenberg, Teven Jenkins, Spencer Brown, Thayer Munford, Alaric Jackson, Adrian Ealy, Rashawn Slater.
  • IOL: The other need for our team. With Lamp and Feeney listed as free agents, Pouncey out for the season(career?) and Trai Turner M.I.A, getting help inside would be beneficial not only for the running game but protecting Herbert. Would like a center. Prospects: Wyatt Davis, Deonte Brown, Trey Hill, Josh Meyers, Trey Smith, Cade Mays, Creed Humphrey, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Alec Lindstrom, Tyler Linderbaum, Jimmy Morrissey, Zion Johnson, Tommy Kraemer, Josh Sills.
  • Edge: Melvin Ingram is getting older and is a free agent, Isaac Rochelle is a free agent, Joey Bosa keeps getting banged up and Nwosu has some flashes, getting a edge rusher so that Bosa can benefit from that would work wonders. Prospects: Gregory Rosseau, Carlos Basham, Quincy Roche, Kwity Paye, Joseph Ossai, Patrick Jones, Aidan Hutchinson, Hamilcar Rashed Jr., Joe Tyron, Brenton Cox, Jaelen Philips, Thomas Booker, Chris Rumph II, Victor Dimukeje, Shaka Toney, Tyreke Smith, Malcolm Koonce, Cameron Goode.
  • D Tackle: Tillery hasn't really panned out as much as a dt and Linval Joseph, while he is strong and still commands double temas, is getting older. It would best if we could get someone to build better depth to maybe eventually replace Joseph. Prospects that I like: Marvin Wilson, Christian Barmore, Jaylen Twyman, Jay Tufele, Xavier Thomas, Tedarrell Slaton, LaBryan Ray, Jordan Davis, Darius Stills, Levi Onwuzurike, Khyiris Tonga, Cory Durden, Marlon Tuipulotu
  • Linebacker: Denzel is a free agent, Tranquill is recovering from an injury we can only hope won't regress him, Murray is still growing and for some reason, I just don't trust Kyzir White. I mean, he had a promising start his rookie year before being out for the season, but he just hasn't been the same. Plus we could use the depth. Prospects: Micah Parsons, Dylan Moses, Jabril Cox, Jeremiah Owusu- Kormoah, Chazz Surratt, Palaie Gaoteote IV, Jack Sanborn, Kuony Deng, Damone Clark, Merlin Robertson, Monty Rice, Tuf Borland, Paddy Fisher, Amen Ogbongbemia, Baron Browning, Cameron McGrone.
  • Corner: We just traded Desmond King who was going to be a free agent after this year, Casey Hayward and Chris Harris are on the wrong side of 30 and Michael Davis has been up and down. We truly need to a younger playmaker at corner. Prospects: Patrick Surtain II, Caleb Farley, Shaun Wade, Paulson Adebo, Tyson Campbell, Jaycee Horn, Israel Mukuamu, Asante Samuel Jr., Derion Kendrick, Kary Vincent Jr., Josh Jobe, Aaron Robinson, Ambry Thomas, DJ Daniel, Marco Wilson, Camryn Bynum, Chase Lucas, Elijah Molden, TJ Carter, Rodarius Williams.
  • Safety: Derwin has been out the whole year, Nasir hasn't been good even though he has shown flashes, Jenkins is a free agent this year and we haven't seen Alohi Gilman play defense yet(also heard he could bulk up and switch to linebacker). We could use better depth here if the worse comes again next year. Prospects: Andre Cisco, Jevon Holland, Paris Ford, Bubba Holden, Richard LeCounte, Hamsah Nasirildeen, Ar'Darius Washington, Trevon Moehrig, Reed Blankenship, Richie Grant, Kolby Harvell-Peel, Tariq Thompson, Talanoa Hufanga, Brady Breeze, Divine Deable, JaCoby Stevens.
Before I end this, I would like tell everyone that my dad(who is a laidback Raiders fan) has been really impressed with Herbert and hopes that the Chargers don't end hurting him like the Colts did to Andrew Luck. I haven't seen him talk this highly of a rookie quarterback since Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes(second year but whatever). If there's anyone I may have missed looking at, let me know. You could also just comment on who are your favorite prospects. Love you all, bolt gang!!

Don’t let your wife become a volunteer firefighter.

My pharmaceutical job relocated me to a small town outside of Philadelphia called Fog Creek, where mostly transplants lived indispersed with a few remaining longtime locals.
My wife, Jill and I didn’t have kids and our neighbors who did have kids weren’t too eager to form friendships with us.
Jill and I would walk to town which everyday which is about 10 minutes away from our house and we would always see a sign saying “Volunteers Needed” for the local fire department.
Our days were starting to get monotonous so my wife and I decided why not and join, because It would be a great opportunity to meet new people.
We called the number on the sign and were told to come in on Saturday morning.
The fire captain, Stan was really nice and welcoming to my wife and I. We were both given a speech by Stan on the dangers of being a firefighter and the commitment required.
Jill and I both agreed to sign the waivers and become part of the organization.
We went every weekend for six weeks. We were also encouraged to participate in the various fundraising opportunities.
Jill was an excellent ice breaker, because all the guys wanted to meet her with her blonde hair and blue eyes. Some of the local wife’s were jealous of my wife. Both my wife and I graduated college and the local woman mostly graduated high school and just took local low paying jobs, so my wife came across as a bit more sophisticated than the other women.
Most of the people who volunteered were locals. The transplants in the area had kids and were busy keeping their own kids occupied.
We finally got to respond to our first fire. I could here the siren go off in town at 3:00 am and then I heard the CB radio go off saying where the fire was located. I woke Jill up from her deep sleep and she was eager to head to the fire station.
We hurried to town to catch a ride on the fire engine. I really didn’t know what to do and I felt out of place. The guys were really encouraging towards Jill and they were telling her what equipment to grab.
Eventually we got in the truck with the other men. The guys were asking Jill if she was ready for the excitement.
The house was only two minutes away. Stan told us just to observe this time.
I can see the smoke billowing out above the trees as we approached the house.
The engine stopped at the house and Stan arrived in his own truck.
I stood and observed as the men unraveled the hoses. The guys were showing Jill what to do. I attempted to assist and I was told to get back and watch over the truck.
Stan attempted to see if their was anyone trapped in the house. Fortunately, the homeowner said that everybody was out of the house.
With the hose unraveled, the guys let Jill point the hose in the direction of the fire as I stood next to the truck.
Around two hours later, we were cleared to leave as other fire trucks had arrived and there was no further evidence of a fire.
We went back in the truck. The guys were Praising Jill as a hero. Jill absolutely loved the attention and felt for the first time like a member of the town of Fog Creek.
Both Jill and I went home and we both took a quick nap before we went to work.
There was a social gathering at the fire hall this same evening so when we got home from work we both got dressed. Jill looked stunning as always. She was just one of those woman who had a perfectly proportioned face with blonde hair and blue eyes and she could go out in just jogging pants and she still would look gorgeous.
The fire hall was built in the 1920’s. The hall itself was large and it looked like it was around 100 feet by 100 feet with original antique flooring.
There was a bar when you first came into the hall with tables dispersed throughout the building.
As Jill and I came into the hall there was a group of five of the volunteers standing by the bar.
As Jill came through the door one of the guy’s said “there she is the big hero,”. which made Jill instantly light up with glee.
The five guys gathered around Jill and asked her about her experience fighting the fire. The guys were holding onto every word that she said.
This is the first time since moving to Fog Creek that I have seen Jill truly happy. Her father was a volunteer fireman and this place was reminded her of her childhood which was comforting to her.
Eventually Jill got the nod to join the guys at a table where 15 other guys were sitting. Jill got so caught up with the attention that she was receiving which made her forget about me as she approached the table with the others.
I stood at the bar and watched and heard as the other guys cheer Jill and welcome her to the table. She sat down and the guys seemed enamored by her.
The table was about 30 feet away from me and I felt extremely awkward contemplating if I would attempt to walk towards the table where Jill was sitting.
There were smaller groups of people dispersed throughout the fire hall.
I didn’t want to stand at the bar by myself so I decided to take the loser strut towards the table, where Jill was sitting.
There were no chairs at the table so I asked the neighboring table if I could take one of theirs. They kindly said no because someone else was coming. At this time the 20 something people that Jill was sitting with stopped what they were doing and watched me as I attempted to find an available chair. It was an extremely awkward experience.
It felt like I was trying to self invite myself to sit with the cool kids in high school where everybody knew I didn’t belong.
Eventually I found a chair and sat at the far end of the table. Everybody was still silent.
Jill could sense the awkwardness and she said “Everyone remembers Bill who joined with me as a volunteer right?”
A couple of the guys sighed “oh Bill that’s right,”. then they continued to laugh and talk amongst each other.
Jill was telling stories of growing up as a kid in her local fire hall. She was like Kelly Ripa. She knew how to tell stories and keep people entertained which is an extremely difficult thing to do considering she’s a female and the guys at the table ranged from their 20’s to their 50’s.
I sat there at the end of the table and nobody would even acknowledge me. It was the most awkward experience of my life.
I grew up in a city where there were no volunteer firefighters. They were just all paid city workers.
All the men at the table were hunters like the men where Jill had grown up. I had no connection with these guys. I think Jill had moved out of the country and went to a city college, where I met her, thinking it would be better, but being around these guys is what she knew and made her feel comfortable.
The beer that I brought from the bar was finished and I felt so paralyzed with awkwardness that I didn’t want to move an inch.
Some of the wife’s, of the men sitting at the table, would bring their husbands alcohol and they would say “Bring one for Jill too.” Then the women would congregate with each other and do various cleaning tasks around the hall.
Three hours later Jill seemed like she was getting tired and got up and hugged each guy before she left. Every guy complimented her on what a great job she did helping fight the fire earlier in the day.
I awkwardly got up with Jill and gave a wave where I think one person might have said “bye.”
Jill was tipsy and extremely ecstatic with all the attention she received that night.
I didn’t want to rain on her parade so I just agreed with whatever she said.
She said “you had a good time tonight right?”
I answered back “yeah of course.” I thought to myself what was I going to say “no I’m a socially awkward loser who married someone way out of my league.”
Jill now slept with the CB radio right next to her bed. Anytime the radio went off she jumped right out of bed.
The second fire response was much like the first one, where I stood awkwardly at the fire truck and Jill assisted putting out the fires.
Stan was so impressed with Jill that he made her the first female assistant fire chief.
That title did nothing for me and if anything it just made Jill have more opportunities to go to the fire hall.
As time went on I would volunteer to do menial tasks at the the fire hall like direct traffic in the parking lot to avoid having to be seen sitting at the bar by myself.
Jill worked as a physical therapist assistant and most days she would go into work earlier than me which meant she would get home earlier than me.
She would no longer wait for me to get home and she would just go to the fire hall by herself. She would text me and say that she had to catch up on assistant fire chief tasks and she would just meet me at the fire hall.
As each day went bye I felt like a bigger loser. Jill and I went from doing everything together to now just sleeping in the same bed.
Today turned into a typical day where I came home from work and Jill was already at the fire hall. Instead of going inside to greet Jill I just went to the parking lot to direct traffic. It was just so pathetic. Most of the volunteers wouldn’t even acknowledge me as they got out of their cars.
I was getting cold so I went into the fire hall to greet Jill. She was sitting at the same table with the 20 other guys that she typically does. She said “Hi Bill” from a distance and I waived back.
I sat at the bar to rest for a few minutes. Eventually Jill came over to me and asked me how my day was going. I caught her looking at her watch as I was talking to her. She eventually left me and said that she had to talk to Stan about possibly purchasing new fire helmets.
I knew things had gotten much worse in our marriage than I thought. She would rather talk to a group of volunteer firefighters than her own husband.
I went back out to the parking lot. I new nobody else was going to come into the fire hall this late in the day but I couldn’t bare sitting at the bar by myself or even worse sit at the end of the table with my wife’s male friends that ignored me.
The weather was getting colder so I went back into the hall. I saw Jill at the same table doing provocative things with a maraschino cherry as all the guys were laughing.
We eventually left in typical fashion where Jill hugged everyone and I stood there awkwardly.
I knew that I had hit the lottery by marrying Jill. Call me shallow but I knew I would never find anyone as remotely as attractive as Jill.
That athletic prowess that I once had could no longer be enough to win over Jill.
I decided that I was going to do everything possible to get her pregnant before she really got bored of me and would decide to leave the marriage.
Every opportunity that she would allow me, I would perform the act on her. I was 99.9% sure she was thinking of Stan or some other guy, but I didn’t let that stop me.
I really wanted nothing to do with being a volunteer fireman or going to the fire hall. The only thing that was making me go was that I knew she would have an all out affair with Stan or one of the other guys, which I had a hunch she might have already been doing, but I said to myself at least she was coming home with me.
Weeks had gone bye and she still hadn’t got pregnant. I found the culprit in her car. She was taking “the pill” which I had no idea she was taking.
I never really told her her that my intent was to get her pregnant so I couldn’t call her out on taking the pill.
So what I did was replace her birth control pills with placebos that I got from the pharmaceutical company that I worked at.
Eventually I knew it worked because she had bought feminine pads that I saw in the bathroom.
For some reason she still wasn’t getting pregnant.
I checked her phone records and she was even contacting those guys while she was at work.
Finally, my mind drifted to the dark side. I bought a “burner” laptop and picked up the free WiFi at the nearest Starbucks. I researched online common ways that firefighters get killed. My researched showed that one accidental way that firefighters get killed is when they unknowingly go into a building that houses Ammonium Nitrate, which was a common farming fertilizer.
What I decided to do was buy small amounts of the Ammonium Nitrate at various stores paying cash of course. Then I would put the chemicals in the abandoned warehouse in town. Then I would set a fire so when Jill’s buddies arrived they would meet their unfortunate doom.
I put all the ammonium nitrate into three barrels and a week before the fire I broke into the warehouse and rolled the barrels in the basement.
Then I got a bunch of gasoline and poured it all over the warehouse and knowingly left a trail of the gasoline leading outside.
All of this stuff was completely out of character for me. I had never been arrested. I felt justified by doing this because those guys knew she was married and they were doing everything possible to alienate me and ruin our marriage.
I unplugged the CB radio and put in dead batteries instead which were supposed to be the back up during power failures.
Finally, I snuck out of the house. I put a box fan on in our room to drown out any noise so Jill wouldn’t wake up. I walked into town by the warehouse and dropped a lit cigarette where I had made the gasoline trail.
I quickly walked away and I started to see smoke come from the warehouse. By the time I got home I could hear the fire siren go off in town.
I tip toed back into bed and Jill moaned a little and thought I had went to the bathroom then she went back to bed. About an hour later I heard a large explosion that woke up Jill. She got panicked and we both went into town to see what happened.
By the time we got to town it was mass carnage with 10 ambulances there. Somebody told Jill that “All the fireman from Fog Creek were killed or severely injured.”
I felt like a mastermind when I hugged my wife as she was hysterically crying.
There was a very large memorial service that even the governor attended later that week.
My wife took the full time fire chief position and she made me her assistant. It was just like old times again. We were once again doing everything together.
The fire hall had a large memorial area dedicated to the 20 men who were killed or severely injured.
Jill actually got pregnant a few months later and I talked her out of naming our son Stan.
We had a big volunteer drive to recruit new volunteers and everything was going great until Arny, one of the local farmers, showed up to the fire station inquiring to become a volunteer firefighter.
My wife handed Arny an application and Arny said to me “I remember you. You came down to my farm business and inquired about fertilizer. Did the Ammonium Nitrate work on the tomatoes?”
Then Jill looked at me.
